First Trinity Homeless Ministry (FTHM)

Agency: First Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church

Description: If you are looking for a hands-on experience where you can reach out to others, this project is for you! Come help the First Trinity Homeless Ministry fulfill their goals of providing a meal and an outlet of conversation to people on the street.

Volunteers assemble sandwiches and walk the streets of Oakland to distribute lunches and converse with those on the street. Volunteers interact with the homeless in small groups, and are accompanied by an experienced FTHM volunteer. There is a short prayer and devotional reading before we leave.
